For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (ESV) (Galatians 5: 13,14)

My View for the Month: MEMORIAL DAY:  May 30, 2022.

This year my Memorial Day thoughts and prayers go beyond our borders. I think about the people of Ukraine who have died to protect their families, friends and neighbors. I am not going to attempt to analyze the reasons for war and conflict, but I do know these dear people need our help until they can help themselves. All they ask is to live in freedom in their own homeland. Ukraine--like Iowa--is agricultural focused and plays an important part in feeding a hungry world. Now--where do I fit into this picture? I don't think I will "take my gun and go"--but I will send money for food to feed the hungry. Let's hope they will soon be raising their own gardens and farming their own fields.
