Spagetti Works (top) was established in Des Moines in 1978. It was located in the once vibrant Court Ave. entertainment district (other photos). This reasonably priced family friendly restaurant  was where we celebrated many birthdays and other occasions for 45 years. Today, I decided to renew old memories as I strolled through the area. It was sad for me to walk past the empty Spaghetti Works building and see the sign above the door. I could see inside and the chairs were still draped over the the red checked table cloths--but NO SPAGHETTI!!!
