Ray "Bubba" Sorensen (above right) has repainted the Adair County Freedom Rock before Memorial Day the past 25 years. Bubba is a real champion of freedom. I have considered it a privilege just to watch him work many of these years. For this 25th anniversary edition he paid tribute to Medal of Honor recipients who gave their lives in service to our country. Bubba has also painted a Freedom Rock in each of our 99 Iowa counties. I have visited many of these, but I think this one is my all-time favorite.

I Like to share with you milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions--so here we go! This is the 25th consecutive year Ray "Bubba" Sorensen has repainted the original Adair County Freedom Rock south of Menlo. I call this a special occasion!
