The LSI Global Greens Farmers Market has relocated this year. This Saturday morning summer event now takes place in the Polk County Health Department Parking Lot at 1907 Carpenter, Des Moines. I tell you a lot about Iowa farmer stuff, but this month I want to focus on farming in the city. Of the products shown here, most were picked yesterday at the Global Greens Gardens in West Des Moines. This unique farm gives refugees and immigrants the opportunity to grow these healthy agriculture products. This, in turn, provides food for their own families and helps feed others in the community. What a blessing to them and us.

Footnote: Why the story title? As you probably know, if I find something I like--I stick with it. My Saturday morning summer routine often includes a trip to the LSI Farmers Market to buy GREEN BEANS!!!!
