"My View for the Month: There is Always a Seat at the Table!" That is the title of the new wall mural on the Catholic Charities Food Pantry at 1815 Hubbell in Des Moines. The fifth grade art teacher at nearby Willard Elementary School challenged her students to design and create a wall painting that was suitable for this location. Some of the children in this area are food insecure so this is much more than writing on the wall--It is a story of love and compassion. Look again at this banner on the wall--it promises sharing without comparing. That must be comforting for the hungry--knowing that anyone who walks by is welcome. Yes--"There is always a Seat at the Table."
