CONNECTED

An over and back walk across the beautiful Women's Achievement Bridge in Downtown Des Moines is always a nice outing. Today I exited the bridge to the walking trail below. I wanted to see the tunnel mural painted last summer by local Des Moines artist, Ally Frame. It is titled "We are Connected."   The artists goal was to create visual elements representing peace. strength, diversity, hope--and more. Personally, that is how I look at life in Iowa today. I am thankful that Iowa farmers and city folks are connected with a common goal--to produce food and agricultural products for a hungry world.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be on the vines; the labour of the olive three shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (KJV) (Habakkuk 3: 17,18)
