A virtual trip to Haiti is the next best thing to being there. No--my boots weren't on the ground, but my heart was right there in the mix with our 2021 Haiti Creekside Church Mission Team. Our team leaders, Karen and Norb Metzler, kept me in the fold via digital technology that made me feel like I was an active part of the team. I want to share with you some of the text messages and photos I received each day. Feel free to jump in--you can be part of the team, too!

The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (NIV ) ( Matthew 25:40)

I hope I'm going to be  with that class next year.

RV:

I  know I also speak for Ann and all past team members  when I thank you for taking time to share your team trip with us.

AW:

Yes, Bob, you do speak for me too (and all of us).

RV:

Karen--I really don't know what God has in store for me about returning to Haiti, but I am certain of one thing.  I am thankful for this VIRTUAL HAITI trip with your Creekside Church Mission Team.

KM:

Noah's Ark is our painting project, along with painting classrooms  and teaching classes.

A dress I brought along for a special girl.

RV:

This is my last (virtual) day in Haiti for this year. My last day thoughts are always the same: This may be "best trip ever", but now I'm ready to get back home to my family and friends.

RV:

Ann--it seems like we were right there with them, doesn't it?

AW:

Yes, it does! Karen, thank you so much for taking us along..

KM:

Here is Jude--he is showing us his school.

KM:

We are safely in Haiti and it's the best trip ever!!!!

RV:

We  are praying for the whole team.

RV:

Wait for me. I'm going too!

KM:

RV:

Jude is a good person and does good things.

RV:

This may be the kids only meal for the day.

RV:

That made my day. Thanks for taking me to church with you.

KM:

My View for the Month: I had written a rather sentimental story for my October "view". Then I decided this simple mural on a school classroom in Haiti, tells it all! The Haiti climate is very suitable for mangos. They can be almost life sustaining when in season. I think the Creekside Church Mission Team passed out a lot of "mangos" this month. Of course, they weren't real mangos--they were VIRTUAL HAITI "mangos" of love and compassion.

RV:

The pic is great. I love the countryside.

Text messages help make a virtual  trip seem real.

If you can't read the wall mural inscription on your device, it is:

"Jesus says whenever you give mangos to the least of these, you have given mangos to me."
