The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by man. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man, he made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the time set for them and the exact places they should live. (NIV) (Acts 17: 24-26)

As I reflect back on these years, I want to thank everyone who helped make this era such an important part of my life.I will name just a few--Larry, John H, Greg, "the Toms", Ann, the Michigan team and many more. What a blessed time. We worked, played and prayed together as we kept our focus on the dear people of Haiti.

I published my first edition of Views of a Farm Boy in January-2006. This beginning issue also covered my first short term mission trip to Haiti. I love the country and the people of Haiti. Therefore, I decided to post one photo from each of my return trips to close out my last monthly issue of VFB.

I probably will not return to Haiti--the wonderful country I love. But I am so thankful for the short term mission teams (such as Creekside Church) that continue to love and share the good news of Jesus with these dear people. They continue to be a real blessing to many wonderful people in and around Pignon, Haiti!
LOOKING BACK
LOOKING FORWARD
I chose Haiti short time mission trips for this post because this country is such an important part of my life. I feel so blessed that God chose me to be just a "small part of something this big." Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. When I first arrived in Pignon I was overwhelmed by the conditions in this poverty stricken nation. But it didn't take long for me to "get over it" and I soon fell in love with this great country and its dear people. I was amazed at how the poorest of the poor and even those who do not have food for themselves look after each other. Yet it goes beyond that! Our new friends loved us as we love them. We helped them with much needed work projects, but there is more. It was such a blessing to share with them the good news of of the gospel and tell them "If they put their trust in Jesus we will see them again--in a perfect world--forever and ever." But that's not the end of the story. I know we will!
I chose short term mission trips as my subject for this page. But I would be very much amiss if I didn't shout out the praises for the full time NGO Christian missions in Haiti. To name a few, near and dear to my heart, are MH4H, PCMP, UCI, PFH and MFI. They all deserve our prayers and support.
