I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone. Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me O God, til I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.(NIV) (Psalm 71: 16-18)
This month marks the 20 year anniversary of Views of a Farm Boy. (January 2006-January 2026.) I decided to observe this occasion by showing you a randomly picked archive photo and telling you a short story related to that photo as I reflect back over each of those years. I have tried to keep my messages positive and upbeat--so this month is a little sad for me. I turned 93 years old this year and I just can't jump in my truck and head out on road trips like I have in the past, Therefore, this is my last MONTHLY edition of Views of a Farm Boy. But I am not quite ready to call it quits so I will share some special occasions from time to time in the future.

Yeah--I know this is a long read, but I am excited to give you a two line summary for each year of VFB.
--The Iowa State Capitol and surrounding area is one of my favorite places in the world.
--Our son, Trent, took me to New York City for a few days this year. I think this photo tells the story.
--This year I celebrated my special day in my usual way. I rode my bike 84 miles on my 84th birthday.
--The Iowa State Fair offers something for everyone. It is a great tribute to the Iowa way of life.
--A photo (slide converted to digital) from my own farming days. I posted this on my March-2018 blog, "Farming in the Fifties""
--Welcome Home Soldier Monument west of Albia. This makes all Iowa and all America proud.
--The worlds largest bull. His home is at the Albert the Bull Park in Audubon, Iowa. I don't know his weight, but this is a lotta bull!
--I have visited the Blank Park Zoo many times, but seeing mama loving and protecting her baby is my favorite moment.
--I love the beautiful fall season in Iowa. These trees are just a short distance from our home.
--I ran past Papajohn Sculpture Park many times during my marathon training days. I took a water break and enjoyed this view,
--The beauty of God's handy work is beyond description. This magnificent old tree is in Ewing Park.
--A day in a small Iowa town is one of my joys in life. Today was "bonus day." We were there when this new wall mural was unveiled.
--Here I am in my home office. Thanks for being with me--as we look back at 20 years 0f "Views of a Farm Boy."
