Breaking news and good news! The newest Des Moines Area art mural was introduced this month--August, 2020. Located by the Great Western Trail, at Cumming, Iowa--it is truly a must see. I promise--it will give you a good and happy feeling with beauty beyond description--just what we all need right now. Below: Some of the scenes on this newly painted water tower that make you happy you are in rural Iowa.

SEPTEMBER--2020

Upper left: A tribute to the Iowa Farmer. This was perfect timing for the introduction of the new art mural on the Cumming water tower. A huge storm moved through Iowa (August 10, 2020) causing massive crop and property damage. But the Iowa farmer will take everything in stride and get right back in the field to help feed a hungry world. Upper middle: I can relate to this! Iowa's Great Western Trail is adjacent to the city park where this water tower is located. I have ridden my bicycle past here many times. Upper right: More memories for me. I went to a one room country school for grades one through eight. Guess what! We played cowboys and Indians at recess and I don't think that made me a bad person. Ha! Then a thank you note to all Iowa veterans. How does it get any better than this?

Left: This old train has a lot of personality as well as a great contribution to Iowa history. In by-gone days, it came roaring down the track where the recreation trail now exists. Lower right: My favorite mural artist, Ben Schuh, deserves a lot of credit for this high in the sky work of art. I think Ben's art is all Iowa all of the time.
