VIEWS OF A FARM BOY
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint. (NIV) (Isaiah 40: 30,31)
I show you a lot of art work and I like to keep you up to date with the new wall murals around the greater Des Moines area. Now for a change of pace! These aren't wall murals--they are giant posters. The huge Nike advertising banner (above) hangs on a brew pub building on Court Ave. The other poster (left and right) hangs on a nearby building just across the alley. The Nike "SO WIN" campaign was introduced during Super Bowl LIX to bolster women's sports. You know the story! So I will just say I think Caitlin has handled her athletic success with such dignity and grace. She continues to be an inspiration to all Iowa and to men and women around the world.
My View for the Month: I do not mean for this story to imply that Caitlin Clark is a "super-human." But I do think she is a good example for young people everywhere. I think Caitlin said it all with this quote: "Athletes move the game forward--whether that's breaking records, changing how people see the sport or just inspiring the next generation. It's not just what happens on the court, but the impact it has way beyond it." Yes, young people (and even older folks like me) who display physical, moral, ethical and spiritual vales can have a postive effect of making the the world a better place for all. That's a win-win for everybody--"SO WIN"!
