VIEWS OF A FARM BOY
JANUARY--2026
RETURN TO HOMEPAGE>>>>>
Teacher, what is the greatest commandment of the Law? Jesus replied:"Love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." (NIV) (Matthew 22: 37-39)
Views of a Farm Boy--Dedicated to promote Iowa agriculture and Iowa values.

Addendum: Look--I am already hedging on my story. I may set up a special edition of Views of a Farm boy from time to time. (If I have any adventures that might be of interest to others). If I havent heard from you for a while and you want to stay on my broadcast list, please send me a "yes" email.
This issue marks the 20th anniversary for Views of a Farm Boy. I started this blog because I wanted the chalenge of learning the HTML coding process. After a few years dealing with those keyboard symbols became a burdensome task so I purchased a program similar to what I use today. From the get-go I dedicated VFB to Iowa agriculture and Iowa values. Therefore, I have done my best to present my adventures in a way that is positive and uplifting. I wanted my blog to be a personal greeting so I have never posted any of my editions on social media. Instead, I relied on my address book to broadcast each months issue to friends and family. So if you are reading this you will know that I consider you to be an important part of my life. Then if you are reading this because someone forwarded it on to you--that makes you special, too. Now for the part that is difficult for me to write. I am now 93 years old and just flat-out don't get around like I did in earlier days. It is kinda like the old saying "put up or shut up." That prompted me to make the decision to discontinue my monthly edition of Views of a Farm Boy. SIGNING OFF isn't easy! But, I want to thank each of you for your encouragement and kind remarks throughout these years. God bless you!

My View for the Month: Throughout the past 20 years I have shared with you so many things from my day trips and other adventures. I am not traveling much anymore so I decided to close out this special month by inviting you to my home office. I always enjoyed my outings, but this is where the real work happened. I have spent many happy hours here in my office putting my pictures and stories together. Each month was a new challenge to figure out a format that would be entertaining for you and meaningful to me. As most of you know, I have, out of choice, lived a conservative and simple life. That is why my home office today looks a lot like it did when I published my first VFB in January, 2006. I hope each of you will find something on my office walls that will remind you of a happy memory from your own days gone by. After all--I consider each and every one of you an important part of this story!
