My view for the month: I am a farmer and feeding the hungry is very important to me. When I go to Haiti I see so many hungry people, but we also have many who are food deprived right here in the greater Des Moines area. They need our help! Our Creekside Church AWANA kids collected 170 food items (above right) for the Urbandale Food Pantry. This was November 15--just in time for Thanksgiving. Now we are nearing Christmas--let's all pitch in to help needy families during the Christmas season. It is so easy--when you shop for groceries just pick up a few non-perishable food items and drop them off at a collection center, such as your church, or deliver them directly to the food panty or food bank. Thanks to our Iowa farmers for helping feed a hungry world and now let's all pitch in to wipe out hunger in our community.
