RIVERVIEW

The Riverview Park area in Des Moines is actually an island surrounded by the Des Moines River and three old established neighborhood--Highland Park, Oak Park and Union Park. Doesn't that make you love it already? In its heyday, (1915-1978) this was the "place to be" if you were searching for entertainment in Central Iowa. Riverview was the home of the Riverview Amusement Park, Riviera Ballroom and much more. Things change and people change--this once vibrant hub of activity fell on hard times and closed in 1978. I think I could safely say this area deteriorated into little more than a flood plain--until now-June 2021. I want you to join the new found fun! Park your car in the public lot at 710 Corning Ave. across from North High. We will walk the pedestrian bridge over the lagoon to Central Iowa's newest entertainment treasure--the all new Riverview Park.
