The Henry A. Wallace building is located on the Iowa State Capitol Complex in Des Moines. This beautiful structure is relatively new (built in 1978), but it has had major structural problems since the get-go. Putting it back in working order would probably be cost prohibitive so it will likely be demolished in the future. On today's visit I took a few photos of the Wallace Building and I want to share my REFLECTIONS with you.

MAY--2025

I like to visit the Wallace Building in late morning and see how the sun reflects on the wall of golden glass panels. What you see is what you get. Sometimes you see a perfect image of the beautiful Iowa State Capitol. Then at other times or from a different angle it is a distorted and out of proportion view. Either way it is a sight to behold. I call it natures example of "art on the wall." Now, before you leave the scene, look southeast diagonally across the street (right). No reflection here--this is the real thing--the Iowa State Capitol Building.

My View for the month: The Iowa State Capitol Complex is one of my favorite places in the world. It is still on my "to do" list at least to visit once or twice each year. I enjoy the Capitol and surrounding area and see something new every time. But I think my favorite part of the day is enjoying my lunch on a bench overlooking our beautiful city. Oh, yes--I look back and REFLECT on my blessing of living in Iowa.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint. (NIV) (Isaiah 40: 30,31)
