You know the old saying--"A penny for your thoughts." Do I have news for you! Your thoughts aren't worth much anymore!  According to the local newspaper (May, 25,2025) the penny is being discontinued. It costs 3.7 cents to put one penny in circulation. No more pennies will be made after the current supply of penny blanks is exhausted. As a side note, it costs 13.8 cents to put one nickel in serice. I know a little bit about math so I'm thinking that might be the next thing on the chopping block. But maybe "who really cares?" Most people don't use real money anymore--it's all cards or digital devices. Yet, there is something comforting about a few coins jingling in your pocket. So don't be surprised if i say--"A QUARTER for your thoughts!"
