VIEWS OF A FARM BOY

RETUR N TO HOMEPAGE>>>>

We are all looking forward to a good year--2021. I am starting the year with a story of faith, hope and optimism. The last few months have been challenging times for Iowa retail. Many Hands Thrift Market expressed confidence in our community by opening a  beautiful new retail store at 8802 University, Clive, Iowa (June, 2020). Shopping here will have a positive impact on the community--and the world. Let's peek inside!

Throughout Many Hands Thrift Store you will find these posters. They are a must read. Each tells a story of love, faith, hope and endurance. If you have questions ask store workers. Come to thnk of it, ask me--but be prepared for the "long answer."

Two of my favorite places in the world. Left: Mt. Pignon-a beautiful view here--but even prettier from the top of the mountain.

Right: The Sylvain Campus of Many Hands for Haiti.

My View for the Month: This new Many Hands Thrift Market is a real bright spot for the Des Moines area. When I visited today, I saw wall to wall good stuff. Most of the merchandise showed little wear and a lot of the items were new. Everything was marked with a fair and affordable price tag. That is real value--but not the end of the story. The profits generated go to help our dear friends in Haiti, as well as others in need. That's still not the end of the story! Many Hands, like most non-profit thrift stores, rely on donated items to stock their shelves. If you have good items you no longer use or need, please consider donating them to Many Hands Thrift Store. You could very well be feeding a hungry family that has no source of income. My opening paragraph promised you a story of hope, faith and optimisim. Now you are part of the story. What a blessing!!

Many Hands for Haiti Thrift Store: Here is what you see when you step inside. I'll take one of each!!!!

For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. (NIV) (Psalm: 72 12)
