(Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive oil fail, and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord;I will take joy in the
God of my salvation. (ESV) (Habakkuk (3: 17,18)
My View for the Month: This truck was just leaving the Urbandale Food Pantry as I was headed out for my morning walk today. The sign on the side touched my heart. Most of us here in Iowa have such abundance--yet there are so many food deprived people right here in our neighborhood. Of course, it goes beyond that! Hunger is a worldwide problem. On a personal note, I have so many dear friends in the wonderful country of Haiti. Some of them do not know when, where and IF their next meal will come. But somehow they seem to survive by trusting in the Lord-- and sharing with each other. My photo above is my Thanksgiving card for the year. My Thanksgiving note, "I want to thank everyone for going the EXTRA MILE to help feed a hungry world."
