VIEWS OF A FARM BOY
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he that plants nor he that waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.(ESV) (1 Corinthians 3: 6,7)

.The world's largest garden trowel sculpture named "Plantoir" has been a joy to behold as you enter the Western Gateway in Downtown Des Moines. This beautiful oversized garden tool dug it's way to fame as soon as it pierced the soil of the Meredith Corp. Campus in 2002. But after reading the morning newspaper today, August 17, 2025, was a down day for me. The current owner of Meredith is now a company called People, Inc. Apparently this new owner has found an unnamed out of town company to BUY Plantoir. So for us in Des Moines that means BYE for this beautiful work of art. You know the old saying "things change and people (and things) move on. I know this very special work art trowel tool will be put to work in a new garden. I really hope it will be enjoyed and appreciated as much as we have. Once again--BYE Plantoir!
