Today (April 01, 2025) is April Fools Day, but these pics "aint no" joke! Black Cat Ice Cream located at 134 5th St. in Valley Junction, opened today. This is much more than just another place to satisfy your sweet tooth. It is an adventure and a destination place. Owners are Alex and Angela Carter.The fun filled mural on the north wall was painted by Alex Carter. It is a humorous representation of a family cat. More than 500 framed black cat photos occupy most of the south wall. Bottom right above: Jeannine holding our ice cream. We both had award winner "Killer Bee" in waffle cones. Of course the bottom two photos are my favorite because they are family stuff.  Left and right: This is our granddaughter's BLACK CAT named Yolky. They moved to Portland, Oregon so we don't see Yolky much anymore. He stays home when they make an Iowa visit--Yolky doesn't like to fly!!!!!
