JANUARY--2022

When I first saw this building in the back yard of our friends home--I made a wish. I wished this mini-home could be occupied by someone who would use and enjoy it for many years to come. Then I discovered my wish had already come true, thanks to MAKE-A-WISH IOWA, Weitz Construction, and others who worked together to make this happen. Eleven year old Ben, who has Cystic Fibrosis, was selected by MAKE-A-WISH IOWA to be the recipient of this custom designed clubhouse. Ben is not going to "outgrow" this wonderful and well deserved gift. Even at my age, I could take  my laptop and hang out here all day. MAKE-A-WISH sponsored a ribbon cutting Sunday, December 05, 2021. Let's join the fun!

A WISH--Actually my title should read: A WISH COMES TRUE. I tried to put the photos in order to tell this touching story better than I could tell it. Summary: Mom and Dad share with Ben before he sees this wish come true for the very first time. As the sign says--everyone is invited to come inside as Ben shares the excitement of the day. Finally, family and friends gather around to show their love and support as Ben--like us--faces the unknowns of the future.
