VIEWS OF A FARM BOY

This is what the Lord says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (NIV) (Jeremiah 29: 10,11)

TETURN TO HOMEPAGE>>>>

It was an extra special tourney for Tom Lehman because his daughter, Rachael, was his caddie. So many professional golfers depend on their caddie for advice, finding the distance, etc.--but not Tom--not today. Rachael does not play golf, but she did carry his bag and offered her dad words of support and encouragement. That is what I call a winning team--and that is just what it was.  Tom (or maybe I should say "they")  won the 2018 Principal Charity Classic Golf Tournament.

The Principal Charity Classic Golf Tournament was held at the beautiful Wakonda Club in Des Moines, June 05-10, 2018. I am glad I went Saturday as the final day, scheduled for Sunday, was rained out. I have attended this event many times and I am always amazed at the skills and sportsmanship demonstrated by these great PGA Champions Tour players.

JULY-2018

The Principal Charity has donated over thirteen million dollars (since 2007) to Iowa organizations that support children. The $20 per day ticket fee is certainly a reasonable price for a great outdoor entertainment venue. But it is much more than that--it is an investment in Iowa youth!
